Nutella Cupcakes

If you happen to be a chocoholic like myself you might enjoy these...

The recipe is coming up

For these fabulous cupcakes you will need:

(to make roughly 12)

220g/8oz butter or margarine
220g/8oz caster sugar
4 eggs, lightly beaten
220g/8oz self-raising flour
2-3 tbsp milk
Nutella
Betty Crocker Chocolate Fudge Icing

1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius/350F, Gas Mark 4.
2. Cream the butter and sugar together in an electric mixer until pale.

3. Beat the eggs in a little at a time, so that the mixture doesn't curdle.

4. Make sure to scrape down the sides of the bowl with a spatula.

5. Fill a cupcake tin with cupcake cases
I used different coloured ones to make them look nice

6. Fold in the flour using a table spoon.

7. Add 2-3 table spoons of milk until the mixture is of dropping consistency.
and mix in completely to form a cake mixture
8. Spoon a teaspoon or two of cake mixture into the cupcake cases so that it covers the bottom.

9. Then get the Nutella out and spoon 1 teaspoon on top of the mixture in the middle.

Then cover over the top with more cake mixture.

10. Bake the cupcakes in the oven for 10-15 minutes (it will depend on how big they are)

Wait for the cupcakes to cool

To make the icing:

Mix together 3tbsp Betty Crocker Chocolate Fudge Icing with 1 and a half dessert spoons of Nutella.

Then use a knife to spread icing on top of the cupcakes

If it doesn't spread very easily dip the knife in some milk first and then spread it.
Then sift some cocoa powder on top.

Voila!

A choccy treat for everyone with a Nutella surprise inside

(The cake recipe is loosely based on the BBC Vanilla Cupcakes online recipe)

Hope you enjoy my first recipe!
